NAMTPT Certification Exam Prep Class: Now that you have accumulated all of your training, it’s exam time! We want you to pass on the first try and it can be done if you’re prepared.

Join Diane Ryan as she teaches a technique of subliminal speed reading to provide quick visual reviews of the material; use flash cards of referral patterns from the Simons and Travell books; learn a mind-mapping technique and receive copies of blank mind maps for you to record information and other hints for taking the exams.

Even if you’re not planning on taking the test this year, these materials and hints will help you prepare in advance and get you ahead of the game.

Ethics:

There are some ethical considerations for clinical myofascial trigger point therapists.

In this workshop you will learn the roles and boundaries in a pain clinic. We will look at situations in a pain clinic setting that call for ethical decision making. Clients in acute and chronic stages of pain may challenge your skills, treatment, and delivery of services. Through discussion and role-playing we will make appropriate choices and formulate responses to difficult situations.

Gain understanding of the signals that indicate pending emotional responses, emotional instability, and transference. Learn to provide professional non-judgmental communication and proper referral techniques. We will discuss the role of the massage therapist as part of a team of health care providers.
